Blackberry Quilt

from $300.00

Part of the PNW Collection, which celebrates the influence of water across the Pacific Northwest, the Blackberry Quilt is inspired by the bounty of wild blackberries found all across Oregon and Washington State in the summertime. Minimal and modern with the touchable texture of linen, the Blackberry Quilt takes you back to the warmth of summer and the joyful simplicity of a bowl of fresh blackberries.

Fabric will crinkle slightly after the first wash and will soften with use + love.

  • Add a hanging sleeve to turn your quilt into a piece of wall art. The sleeve is made with the same fabric as the quilt back and lies flat when not hanging, so you can still use it as a quilt.

  • The first time I really explored the Pacific Northwest was the summer of 2013, the first year of my full time Airstream travels. Driving up through Northern California into Southern Oregon, I pulled over on the side of the road for lunch in the middle of Klamath National Forest. I hopped out of the truck and was amazed at what I saw: the pull out was lined with a tangle of thorny vines studded with giant ripe blackberries. I ran back to the truck - “John!! There’s wild blackberries on the side of the road! I can eat them, right?? They’re FREE! Free blackberries!!”.

Growing up in a big city in Texas, I had never seen anything like it. Blackberries always came from the grocery store and they were not cheap. So to be able to pick all the perfectly ripe, fresh and wild blackberries I could carry and/or eat, on the side of the road no less, was such a novelty to me. I ended up bringing a bowl or a tea towel along with me whenever I went on a walk to bring some blackberries home with me to bake into pies or scones. It was magical to me and such a treat to come across these sweet berries all summer long.
